A couple comments have been made that some people who have worked on unnamed sites (they didn't name them, I'm not being coy) could fix all the spam problems on the ETJ site just by letting them have admin privileges for one week. Ok, so, pm or email forum administrator (that's Paul)and prove your back-ground and your expertise. I'm not singling out one person, this has come up a few times. Think about it: if you had a site would you just make some unknown person an admin because of boasts? Walk up to the plate and accept the "put up or" challenge.
Yes, I did delete a couple posts; it was a long week-end and I didn't have any cheese left to go with the whine.
A couple posts that I was pm gigged about were from supposedly other job sites and were we just putting someone else off. Yes, and no. Coke doesn't advertise for pepsi, do they? Second, I check out many things first. A safer way to check some sites is to put them in search engines like dogpile or google search windows and see what comes up; one seeming US job search was actually middle Eastern based, probably dirty stuff (from the search engine descriptions.)
I agree truckers are highly intelligent people who have a bad rep and allowing spam is a tacit put down, that why we keep going after them and why you don't see days old spam on here (if you do, pm me.) Those little bells on the side turn yellow when there's a new post, so the spammers aren't even a night light bright in trying to post in different sections.
The forum is for your real trucking issues and to help each other. True, we aren't My Space, so it isn't for gossip or trying to bad mouth someone to suicide (recent news,) it's for your concerns and problems. Sometimes it's for venting about the issues, that's real.
I do question why, since most of the time their titles are "explanatory," anyone would go into obvious drug or ohno sites; they don't even have to be devious, which is rather sad.
