Quit Calling Me!!!

Quit Calling Me!!!

Postby Unionjack67 on Wed Feb 01, 2006 3:32 pm

JB Hunt will call you until you either change your number or die.

I talked to a couple of different recruiters with JB when I was first looking to Lease my truck on someplace...

Here is a good way to get them to quit calling you.

The last time they called me I said, "Wow, glad you called.... I think I'm about to get fired... I've had a couple of people call in to complain about me and yesterday I just got into a rearender.... How soon can you get me into orientation?"

They haven't called me back since.

Thats really not how it works.....if we were calling you, it was because you are in our database and the computer is calling you. We as recruiters usually dont manually dial many of our calls. Saying anything to us and hanging up, wont get you out of the system.
Here is the deal, Instantly when you hang up on me, all the information about you on my computer disappears. So if some driver says "quit calling me...(insert random cuss word)....Im going to sue you" and then hangs up. We will call him again and there is nothing a recruiter can do about it. Once you hang up, there is no way for me to pull up your number and remove it. Believe me, I dont want to call anyone who I cant hire. Although it does make the day much more fun when we get cussed out a few times.
But all is not lost....If you want us to not call you....here is the 4 easy steps.
Step 1: Be nice and treat me with respect. I feel no need to waste my time trying to help someone who seems to have a bad attitude. If you start out cussing at me, Im going to do one of two things...Just hang up on you....or Im going to put you on speaker phone so my neighbors can get a laugh too. Neither one of those is going to get you taken out of the system.
Step 2: Ask me to have you removed and tell me why.
Step 3: I will ask you to go on hold for about 15 seconds and I will get one of the removal girls on the phone.
Step 4: Tell her your phone number and you will be removed.
All in all about 15 seconds of your time.
Keep in mind that we get out information from many sources, including this website. Once removed from the system, there is always a chance we will get your name again and it will be back in the system.
When this happens, Repeat steps 1-4.

You obviously know your system better than me.

I've never been rude to any one calling me to offer a job (after all, I don't want to burn any bridges).

But... all I can say is they haven't called me since.

I didnt think you were one of the rude ones....I just wanted to point out to anyone else out here how to stop the calls. In all honestly, you shouldnt burn any bridges....you never know whats going to happen in this industry or what any recruiter is going to offer. We have some dedicated and local jobs that are so good that drivers rarely leave them, or when an opening comes up, they are so good they get filled with our drivers before I even see them.....But occasionally, one of them will come open where I can hire a driver off the street. You never know when we could be calling with a job like that. Honestly, I can think of a many times when Ive called a driver, he yells at me for calling so much, then an hour later a good local job comes open. I call him back and he starts cussing again....I have to practically screem at him to shut up...then I offer him the good local job. Man, his attitude changes real quick. Ive hired quite a few like that.
We might call you 100 times and offer you OTR...but that one time you decide you dont want to talk to us, you might miss out your dream job. Hey, Recruiters call me too. I cant always talk to them. I don plan on leaving JB at all. But I sure want to know what places are offering just in case.

I guess what im saying is, I know we call you a bunch....thats pretty much my job. Im paid pretty good money to call you a bunch. Personally, Im not going to stop calling people over and over as long as it working so well and the people who sign my check are telling me to. Believe me there isnt a recruiter in this building who hasnt asked the question "why are we calling the same people over and over" The answer was always the same....BECAUSE IT WORKS. After you have been here for a while you realize that it does work.

One note to the above: the only way a recruiter gets someone's information from this site is if the driver checked (or left checked)the box for that company.
ETJ does NOT sell or give access to anyone's information unless they request the company. A few times drivers have not realized they left a specific company checked and their app went there.
We sincerely respect the privacy of the drivers.

Good point libby....I guess I should have been clear on that. Personally I dont get numbers from this site but I do know JB gets many aps from sites like this. Honestly, when I see an Ap, I dont know what site they come from. I was assuming....and you know what happens when people ASSUME....lol

Union, you could have closed the deal for sure by saying "and I melted the cup when they did the post accident drug test!"

HIRING IN NC

Postby Wright1 on Sun Mar 05, 2006 6:56 pm

Does JB Hunt have local home every night positions in High Point, Greensboro, Winston or somewhere in NC and how much experience do you have to have to get one of these positions? I will graduate driving school in 4 weeks and I already have my CDL A with tanker ends.
Thanks,
Ralph

I think JB requires 3 months of OTR exp. Sheepdancer would be the one to ask. He is a recruiter for them, but I have not seen him on here for awhile. Hope this helps. 8)
