Positive Experience at NEMF (NJ)

in 2006, I was paid about $450 a week to hang out in a yard in Edison NJ (Carrier Industries) and play with the truck until I was comfortable for the road test.

After being in this industry for about 2 years now, this seems like the best opportunity for future drivers I've heard of.

They treated me really well until I started working for them but from this board, it seems that all major carriers give their drivers crappy loads.

Last time I checked, NEMF was training drivers with no experience all over the U.S. At most of the yards, you work 1/2 the day on the dock, and 1/2 the day training until you get your CDL, then they put you on the road LTL or OTR.

My training experience was positive and I would recommend NEMF to an unexperienced driver. Compared to the schools around NJ that are overcrowded, I had too much time in the truck before i went for my driving test at the DMV. I spent about 6 hrs a day, 5 days a week for 2 months in the truck behind the wheel.

Give, give - what's the contact number and website for this company? At the very least a phone number? There aren't too many companies that trains these days, especially ones that pay you well while you're training.

I checked their website and it says that they require at least a year of experience. So are they actually pretty lenient on this? Or will they consider good driving school training in lieu of experience?
