An officer coming towards me passes me .Turns around and pulls me over and said, I was speeding.I, then tell the officer I live around the corner and that no one who lives around
here speed in a 25mph zone where the police normally hangs out and take lunch breaks etc.
I asked him for a speed check? He smile and proceed to the squad car.He returns a few minutes later, throws the ticket at me and says,"Speed checked out.Wrote me up for 41 in a
25 mph zone.I was so angry.I just was not going to let him get away with that.I hired Truckers Legal.I paid all of that money for a attorney to go to court and plead a Nolo Contendere. My commercial license was suspended for 60 days. And no other company will hire me now.So Im stuck on the road with this anonymous company that cant give me 16oo miles a week.10 yrsOTR experience about to go flip burgers....

It's that suspension - I make a bet your DAC looks great, but once a recruiter sees "suspended license" on your application they go; "....hhmmmmmmm..." and you're right it isn't fair. What did Truckers Legal say? Did they say anything about an appeal? I've heard of them, but I don't know their policy or procedures...

On the other side the suspension will drop off, how old is it from the conviction date? What was your MVR like before this? I'd say don't give up, but you're going to have to play the systems game a bit harder.

Go through the companies on www.everytruckjob.com and look at the companies policies on suspensions, call these companies up and ask, talk to people and learn more about the companies that interest you and then network like a #$@$@$@#@$.... the only reason that suspension or speeding ticket would hurt you if you have a great background is if the insurance program the company say it will, but policies differ company to company --- your problem is so many people are applying for jobs these days that you get lost in the pile and then when they do pick it up they see "suspended license" and automatically put it back down.

Start calling the one that have insurance policies that could accept you, and call so much you know everyone in that office by name and the number of kids they have... put your name to a character they want to hire, and that's determined and qualified to do the job.

Also see if you could meet with a recruiter in person, since you currently are driving a little, see if any of those runs might put you near a terminal you could stop by and talk with ( though don't drive up in your rig, take a taxi or something, but don't show up as the competition.. )

You can do this... we can help..

I received a "speeding" ticket in January '08 for 20 over (65 in a 45) in my 4 wheeler (I have a class A) and I hired an Attorney who got it reduced to Improper Equipment--Speedometer.
A small fine was attached.
NO suspension, NO points.

I've heard of Truckers Legal yet never tried them.

LOTS of companies state through revised qualifications/requirements that a 15 over ticket denies further talks.
ANY suspension delivers the same.

You're still able to drive, then STAY where you are until you can do better.

I hope the BEst uv WELLness 2-u-n-urs-n ALL adventures!!

I know the original post is an old one, but I just had to point out...
Nolo Contendare means "no contest". That is legalese for 'I am not going to dispute the charge'. It is effectively the same as pleading guilty. The only plea that would have got you off is "Not Guilty".
