May 1st Walk Out

Postby forum moderator on Mon May 01, 2006 10:22 am

Today's the day when millions of legal, and ill-legal, immigrants will walk off the job, the school, the street. Not a dollar will be spent, not a dollar will be made from their labor. Do you think this will effect trucking? What is the outlook of change if Congress does change the law of foreign drivers crossing the border to take up driving jobs here? Do you think there's any threat that companies will look to replace current drivers with cheaper labor?

You bet Admin. If carriers could hire cross border drivers they would do it in a flash. CA is loaded with them. Most get someone to verify past employment. But its pretty prevelent here.

If they could legally hire them you know the pay would drop. They were all out walking the streets and it did have an effect here how much nobody will really tell.
Do yourself a favor and do your country a favor, please watch http://zeitgeistmovie.com, then lets talk about it.
