Forum Guidelines (updated 02-22-05) -Read This!!!-

Honestly, just try to behave in a somewhat civil and peaceful manner. Try not to display behavior or use language that would be inappropriate in the workplace. Basically, just use common sense and good judgment.

If you are still in doubt about what is not allowed or what could get your posts or thread removed, please consult the following:

-What is not allowed

• Pointless or gross photos.
• Pointless, gross, or insulting topic threads.
• Racism, excessive prejudice, harsh insults and general mean spirited behavior.- making fun of or mocking other posters is especially frowned upon.
• Excessive profanity and crude terminology.
• Nude photos.
• Identical posts repeated over and over again.
• Identical posts repeated over and over again....oops
• Making fun of the death of someone or a catastrophic event like the recent tsunamis or 9-11.
• Harassing other posters- if you take issue with someone, handle it civilly and in an adult manner. Do not make it your mission to respond sarcastically to every one of their posts. Sometimes it's best just to say nothing rather than get the last word in. Also, do not send violent, angry or abusive messages via personal message or email.
• Spamming (repeated unsolicited advertising)- This is abused by advertisers all the time. Unless you are a recruiter advertising jobs for truckers, please relegate your advertisements to the Everything Else section.
• Harassing the moderators- the mods are here to keep this forum running as smooth as possible and will attempt to be an impartial judge when evaluating posts.
• Posting advertisments or links to sites deemed in competition with the interests of EveryTruckJob.com
• Likewise, no linking to our competitor's websites.

2. Avatars:

You can get an avatar (a picture like the smiling robot I've got with mine) to add to your posts if you are registered. 80 pixels wide x 80 pixels tall is the MAX. Avatar file size is limited to 6k. We will delete oversized avatars.

3. Posting guide:

If you cannot find your post, the mods have probably moved it somewhere more appropriate. Please do not get upset with the mods when your post is moved. Private Messages or emails to the mod containing harsh or offensive terminology can result in the banning of the offending poster.

Please post in the appropriate thread. If there is already a recent topic containing a subject you want to talk about, post within that thread. Please do not make a whole new topic about it.

4. Jokes

Please try to keep your jokes in the appropriate places. A political joke could go in the Current Events section any others can go in the Everything Else section. While we are somewhat flexible on this rule, we do ask that you respect it. The General Trucking Discussion section is already frequented quite a bit, and posting a joke might move someone's post about a job off the page. If you just have to post a joke in one of the trucking sections, please at least have it pertain to trucking. Even still, it is subject to being transfered to a more appropriate area.

Everytruckjob.com reserves the right to delete any post that it deems inappropriate or in conflict with the interests of our website. Posts are evaluated at the discretion of Everytruckjob's moderators.

All in all, have fun. I wish we didn't have to have rules here at all, but some abusers have made it necessary. Trust your better judgment. Try to bring some good ideas to the world of trucking.
