Before working for any company, ask to see their insurance papers.
List of what to look for:
Workers comp insurance?
Who is covered on Motor Vehicle Policy?
Get a paper signed stating that you are employed by the company.
If you are involved in an accident, How will you get home? (you may have to have a family member drive across the country to get you from the Hospital at your own expense .
Vehicle Registration and the plates on the tractor and trailor, are the real, if not who pays the ticket.

Beware of companies that have a history forgetting who makes them money, and KEEPS THE WHEELS ROLLING.
