Air Ride, Inc - Swanton, OH

Who do YOU work for and why? What would you change if you could?

Four Companies Took Over The Industry. To Continue Driving Truck You Would Have To Work For One Of Them. Who Would It Be?

I'd quit driving and retire

Air Ride, Inc - Swanton, OH

Postby Unionjack67 on Thu Mar 09, 2006 12:54 pm

I own my truck and am leased on to Air Ride, Inc who is based out of Swanton, OH. They have contracts with DHL (they manage DHL trucks and Trailers and DHL runs under their authority), Airborne, and Bekins.

They do some GC loads but mostly as back hauls.

I could not imagine a better company to work for. I had my reservations in the beginning, but they have been quick to resolve any issue I've had and they are very good to me.

Should I mention that they have the highest pay package in the industry for O/O's?

Unless the sky falls, I'll probably be with this company for a long time to come.

This is a tough question, but if I had to choose, it'll probably be either Werner or Schneider. I have a buddy that works for Werner and he will be there two years this October. He says once he has his two years in, he's gone.

UG what a choice

Postby grunntly on Sat Apr 29, 2006 8:18 pm

Well seeing as I drive for JB currently,I guess I'd just stay.
But driving any truck that doesn't slow down at the site of a hill and goes faster than 62 top would be tempting.

Ya they have a DHL run up here

Postby grunntly on Sat Apr 29, 2006 8:35 pm

That i applied for a few years ago,I forget what job I took instead. You don't always get a chance to run 72 up here in the Northeast with all this PIA traffic, that's why I like running nights if I can

Ya it might just be this account I'm on

Postby grunntly on Sun Apr 30, 2006 11:50 am

I know you're new to the company and you talk more like a recruiter than a driver but let me know the specifics on the walmart account. I've talked with the DCS NorthEast hiring manager and several other people and they all say I'm on the best account around here earning wise. That's why I haven't transfered yet, I don't want a paycut.
